| Light in dusk, brownish-red soil, bluish-grey skies, aglow with pink, the green-orange of vegetation and the chaotic kaleidoscope of urban energy -- all of it is full of poetry. As colours and emotions are interrelated, i.e. red rage, green with envy and so on, the use of brilliant colour becomes a highly personal work and a personal symbolism which speaks more powerfully to the viewer. I try to fuse what I see into statements in my paintings and these are revelations of me. In my landscapes and cityscapes, my goal is to give a heightened expression of the life around us. My hope is that one is transported into another more beautiful and less rational world where colour is the lyrical reality. |
